belap was able to provide additional expert advice in the determination of a recent housing application of 2.000 dwellings and associated infrastructure for land within South Hams, on Plymouth’s border.
The South Hams Playing Pitch Stratgey needs assessment identified a requirement for additional provision over that adopted as the Policy Area standard within the relevant Local Plan. The applicants objected to making off-site contributions to improve existing facilities nearby, stating that the proposed on-site provision was policy compliant and viability was a key consideration.
belap worked closely with the National Governing Bodies and the Council’s S106 Officer to incorporate the PPS’s findings into the Council’s response, producing amended evidence and proposals to underpin negotiations.
